Anointing Of The Sick

Anointing Of The Sick

The Sacrament of the sick is described in the letter of St James 5:14-15: ‘Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord and the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.’

It is usual for Catholics to receive this Sacrament when they are sick or in hospital. When a person is anointed, they receive the strength and healing power of God to assist them with their illness.  If you would like to receive this Sacrament please make an appointment with Fr Tom or your local priest.
